What is Southeast Newcomer Services?
Southeast Newcomer Services (SNS) is a Non-Profit Organisation funded through the Ministry of Economy to assist Newcomers settling into Southeast Saskatchewan. Our focus is ensuring newcomers are supported in finding the information, resources, and services they need to make their move a success. We also provide access to computers, printing, photocopying, scanning, assistance with foreign qualification recognition, health card applications, referrals for career & employment services, information sessions etc.
Who is classified as a newcomer?
Newcomers refer to individuals moving into Southeast Saskatchewan from another country, another province, or an Aboriginal community.
Are the services provided by SNS free?
Yes, the services provided by SNS are free. We cover the entire Southeast Saskatchewan, so if you are unable to come to our office, we will visit you in your community for free.
Do I need to book an appointment to come to SNS?
You do not need to make an appointment to visit SNS. However, we do encourage persons who need in-depth service to book an appointment, so we can provide the best possible service.
Does SNS help with finding a job?
Southeast Newcomer Services (SNS) will provide newcomers with information on how to search for jobs and referral for career and employment services.
Does SNS provide financial support to newcomers?
SNS does not provide financial assistance, but will assist you with information on services and programs that could provide financial assistance.
